shrunken features suggest his advanced age,
while his elaborate earrings and ritual scarring
indicate his social prominence. From deeply
recessed eyes he stares into the void, as if
contemplating the unknown landscape of
eternity. His gesture is poignant yet powerful,
suggesting a man who has lived a full life but is
reluctant to relinquish his hold on it. This, he
has remained for centuries, unable to make up
his mind, suspended between one dimension and
the next.
